With over 25 years of flexo press experience, EAC understands the importance of maintaining the performance of your anilox rollers. We supply an anilox cleaning plate solution designed with production in mind.
Some of the benefits an EAC Anilox Cleaning Plate can offer
|
Fit an EAC anilox cleaning plate as you would a polymer printing plate, ink up the print unit with your preferred cleaning solution (soap), The complete inking system will benefit from the process - pipes, pumps, filters, rubber rolls, and ink chambers
See it in Action
This machine runs the cleaning plate as a stand alone off-line cleaning process, blocked cells, water marks, grease and surface staining are all removed safely and efficiently. |
Off-line Cleaning
Retro machines are work horses and run forever, but they still require regular anilox care. Run independently as part of your weekly ‘Machine Care Time’ (MCT) procedure. (30 - 60 mins / week). |
In-line Cleaning
Newer printing machines require regular anilox cleaning to ensure they are in good working order. Run as you print with the ‘Machine Care Time’ (MCT) procedure, (30 - 60 mins /week). without any downtime |

FAQs
If you would like to know more about Anilox Cleaning Plate Technology
WHAT IS AN ANILOX CLEANING PLATE
An anilox cleaning plate is designed to maintain and revive anilox rolls by cleaning cells and ceramic surfaces.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Simply fit as you would a polymer printing plate, ink up with cleaning solution, engage the cleaning plate with the anilox roll and run until the anilox is clean. We supply a full support service to ensure you can implement a cleaning plate within your production environment safely, efficiently and effectively.
WHAT TYPE OF ANILOX ROLLS CAN BENEFIT FROM USING AN ANOLOX CLEANING PLATE?
Every type of anilox roll can be cleaned: conventional fine screen, heavy volume, including elongated cells and coating application rollers.
WHAT MACHINES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH ANILOX CLEANING PLATES?
All types of machines can use anilox cleaning plates: newer ‘modern’ and ‘older’ retro models are fully compatible.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING A CLEANING PLATE
The Anilox cleaning plate provides the complete cleaning process: Unblock anilox cells, remove surface staining, water, ink, oil, grease marksreduce downtime, colour failures, quality issues, customer rejections, product returns and increased ink costs. When in operation the full inking system is also cleaned - pumps, pipes, filters, chambers, cylinders and rubber rolls.
HOW LONG DOES IT HAVE TO RUN FOR?
We recommend running the anilox cleaning plate for a minimum of 45 minutes regularly to maintain clean anilox rolls at their peak performance, run for longer to ‘revive’ neglected and dirty anilox rolls.
WHAT TYPE OF CLEANING SOLUTION IS NEEDED?
Most cleaning solutions work well with the cleaning plate. We recommend you continue to use your current cleaning solution. We can recommend alternative cleaning solutions on request.
HOW DO YOU KNOW THE ANILOX ROLL IS CLEAN?
Visually there will be a distinctive difference between before and after cleaning, surface stains and marks will be removed. On press colour scans identify how well the anilox roll is performing. Before and after anilox ‘scoping’ will ensure accurate results.
WHAT IS IN-LINE CLEANING?
The cleaning plate works as you print. Just fit to a spare print unit, replace ink with cleaning solution, run and clean as you print.
WHAT IS OFF-LINE CLEANING?
This process involves the cleaning plate working separately as part of a weekly cleaning procedure, just fit to a print unit and replace ink with cleaning solution. Run as a stand-alone process.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ‘MAINTAINING’ AND ‘REVIVING’ ANILOX ROLLS?
‘Maintaining’ anilox rolls is keeping them clean by using the cleaning plate regularly adhering to a strict cleaning regime, preventing potential anilox issues before they happen. ‘Reviving’ anilox rolls is a process that involves cleaning neglected anilox rolls which are affecting print quality. The cleaning plate may have to be used for longer and include multiple cleans to restore anilox rolls to full production capacity.
DO CLEANING PLATES REQUIRE ANY SPECIALIST CARE?
We recommend a quick rinse with water after use and always hang up in a plate rack just like polymer printing plate to keep them in good condition.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN A CLEANING PLATE BE USED AND HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
With regular use, cleaning plates can be used regularly for 8 – 12 months before they require replacing.
CAN YOU SUPPLY A CLEANING PROCEDURE OR MAKE A SUGGESTION FOR MY COMPANY?
Definitely, we are happy to help set up standard or bespoke cleaning procedures to benefit production.
